Gonzalo Robles, Founder and Educational Consultant

 

Mr. Robles has been working with economically – disadvantaged and Hispanic families for over 23 years as a motivational speaker and trainer in a variety of educational settings. His

mission is to promote a culture of high expectations and the importance of post-secondary education for all students. From 2008 to 2010, Robles led the University of Texas Systems’ Café con Leche (Coffee with Milk) initiative, an informal forum for Latino parents to learn more about the financial aid and college application process. Café con Leche has evolved into a research-based, multifaceted program with the following components: Community and Neighborhood Cafes, Road to College, financial aid events, and teacher training. Café con Leche partners with universities, colleges, school districts, and community organizations.

 

Robles has worked with over 80 communities and partners throughout Texas and Florida, including the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, UT Pan American, UT San Antonio, UT Brownsville, UT El Paso, UT Tyler, Tyler Junior College, Midwestern State University, Central Texas College, Amarillo College, West Texas University, Vernon College, several independent school districts, and various Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. Robles holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Texas State University-San Marcos and a bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas.

Dr. Stephanie Zamora Robles, Educational Consultant

 

Dr. Stephanie Zamora Robles has over 13 years of educational experience in Texas public schools as a teacher and assistant principal at the elementary and middle school level. Additionally, she is an Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Learning At Midwestern State University. Her areas of expertise are equitable learning opportunities for English learners, educational leadership, and middle school.

Degrees: Ed.D in Educational Leadership

Texas Education Agency Certificate: Bilingual Generalist- Spanish EC-6, Generalist EC-6, Principal EC-12, and Superintendent EC-12

Dr. David Barbosa

 

Dr. David Barbosa, Senior Advisor and Facilitator

 

Dr. David Barbosa’s educational career spans over 40 years and includes service as a teacher, central office administrator and superintendent for 25 years. He worked in public school districts in 6 different states including Kansas, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Additionally, Dr. Barbosa taught as a university professor in 4 institutions of higher education in Arizona and Texas. His areas of interest and expertise are educational leadership, social justice, race relations, and bilingual/multicultural education.

Dr. Kym Acuña, Director of Curriculum and Professional Development

 

Dr. Kym Acuña has over 23 years of educational experience in schools as a teacher, principal, and college professor. She is an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at Midwestern State University. Her areas of expertise are personal and school leadership, character education, student success, and service learning.

Angelina Chapa- Educational Consultant

Angelina Chapa has over 20 years of educational experience in Texas public schools as a bilingual teacher and as a Bilingual Educational Specialist at the regional level. Her areas of expertise are training teachers and administrators in best practices for English Learners and presenting family literacy programs for the community.
